New York Biotech firm will temporarily set up their lab at TBRI

IRX Therapeutics, a New York cancer research firm is returning to St. Petersburg for expansion. The presence of IRX is expected to impact jab growth and research study in the Tampa Bay area in the coming years. While IRX begins its expansion into the area, the firm has decided to use Tampa Bay Research Institute as a temporary home. Tampa Bay Research Institute, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2011, is happy to welcome IRX Therapeutics back to Florida. Both firms have a strong belief in the importance of the immune system’s participation in fighting cancer.  IRX develops immune therapies for certain kinds of cancer.  The current drug under development, IRX-2, aims to improve the immune system of patients fighting mouth and neck cancers.
